Turbotronic™ 5 is the foundation for modernizing your Solar® gas turbine package. It is the latest standard control system for new and aftermarket applications.

Human-Machine Interface (HMI)

Operator interface can be provided using a desktop computer or a freestanding control console. This comes with Solar’s most updated display and monitoring system and is a fully functioning HMI.

Turbotronic™ 5 is integrated with the Dynamix™ 1444 vibration system protecting your equipment from damage due to vibration and accelerating speed, increasing equipment availability and service life.

Dry Low Emissions (DLE): SoLoNOx Upgrade

 

Using Solar’s SoLoNOx technology, customers are able to maintain a cleaner environment to reduce emissions. SoLoNOx is an option for natural gas fueled gas turbines rated at 3.5 MW and larger, including the Centaur®, Taurus, Mars®, and Titan. It utilizes lean-premixed combustion technology to ensure a uniformed air/fuel mixture, and controls the combustion process to prevent unnecessary emissions from forming.

Methane Emissions Reduction Solutions for Gas Compressors

 

Solar has developed emissions reduction solutions to help customers achieve near-zero methane targets. These solutions are designed to mitigate the atmospheric release of fugitive methane from the dry gas seal primary vent from Solar’s centrifugal gas compressors. It also provides an alternate method for handling the methane when station or unit depressurization is required for scheduled maintenance or non-emergency shutdowns.

Back-Up Safety PLC

Our back-up safety system provides an additional level of protection for customers with project specific and/or insurance requirements. This includes a primary two-channel programmable logic controller (PLC) that is paired with a “safety partner.” The safety partner is a coprocessor that provides an isolated second channel for safety-related functions in the system.

Start System

 

Direct-drive Alternating Current (DAC) Start System

The Direct-drive Alternating Current (DAC) start system is a proven configuration for Solar gas turbine packages. The system initiates engine rotation, maintains engine purge speed, assists acceleration to a self-sustaining speed, and perpetuates a slow roll speed.

Intelligent Electric Start System

The intelligent electric start system (IES) is a compact upgrade solution for customers interested in converting an existing pneumatic start system to an AC electric start motor driven by a variable frequency drive (VDF).  Since it does not require a controls retrofit, this upgrade is extremely cost-effective.
